AP PRECISION CAPABILITIES
Tested and developed to scale with your growing business
FABRICATION
Our battle-tested manufacturing systems, focused on annual production volumes of 100-10,000 EAU, have been designed to provide our customers with the ability to maneuver. That means quickly increasing production as necessary, allowing for cut-in revisions as necessary without accruing tooling costs, all while achieving pricing competitive with stamping. We handle metal thicknesses ranging from thin sheet metal (20GA) up to medium plate (1.5’’). Manual and automated cells are on hand for our customers who require laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and hardware insertion.
CUTTING
We have specialized machinery to process a broad range of metal alloys and thicknesses. Utilizing 4kw, 10kw, and 12kw fiber lasers, punch presses, and automated bandsaws, we can produce complex, high-volume and high-precision parts. Though the majority of our cutting machines are employed in products requiring multiple subsequent processes, our state of the art equipment can also serve as a valuable source for high-volume flat part processing.
WELDING
We engage robotic weld cells, collaborative robots, and skilled professional welders to provide quality and reduced labor costs. Our senior professionals carry a number of AWS weld certifications to meet the specific needs of our customers.
Weld cells are equipped with:
- Industry-leading welding equipment
- Gantry hoists for quick and easy movement of large weldments
- A broad spectrum of jig tooling
- A dedicated jig tool room for your weldments
PAINTING & FINISHING
Finish coatings are integral for the end user’s product experience. The ability to process powdercoat, polyurea and passivation finishes in-house allows us to maintain quality, reduce lead times, and limit costs for our customers. We are also able to lean on our trusted local partnerships when silkscreen, laser etching, plating, anodizing, chromate, zinc, or black oxide is required.
ASSEMBLY & KITTING
We put significant investment and work with trusted national suppliers for assembly hardware, offering an array heavy material handling equipment at your disposal and readily available to meet your product requirements. When you shift early stages of assembly to our company, your resources can be relocated to electrical assembly and function testing prior to shipment. For products that don’t require any electrical assembly or testing, we also provide complete kitting, labeling, and packaging, so they’re all-ready for customer delivery.
ALUMINUM BUSBAR
We’re Experts in Busbar
AP Precision is a national leader in aluminum busbar manufacturing. The main advantages of aluminum busbars are their lower cost compared to copper and their lighter weight, which simplifies handling and installation, while also providing sufficient conductivity for most electrical applications when designed for large cross-sectional areas. Additionally, aluminum's inherent properties of corrosion resistance and its recyclability means it is both durable and environmentally sustainable, making it a highly compelling choice in the electrical industry.
We focus on thicker profiles ranging from .063’’-.500’’ thick bar, and raw stock up to 18’’ wide. With our range of machinery and skilled operators, we are able to quickly cut and bend even the most complex profiles. Our state of the art 40,000 sq. ft. factory in San Diego, CA, has capability to run your product for a quick turnaround or best pricing. Test our Metal.
